Klayton Botelho General Manager

Klayton has 30 years of operational experience managing large industrial mining operations in Brazil for companies such as Vale, Yamana Gold, Leagold, and Minsur.  He has a Strong background working with open pit and underground mining operations, as well as plant processes, maintenance operations and health and safety.  Klayton holds an engineering degree in mineral processing, as well as an MBA in Strategic Management.  With Lipari, Klayton has instituted a strong performance culture, focused on cost reduction and production performance.

Renato Ferreira Mine Operations Manager

Graduated in Mining Engineering from the Federal University of Ouro Preto and an MBA in Business Management from FGV. He has 22 years of experience in the mining sector, providing mine planning and managing operations at open pit and underground mines in Brazil for companies such as Vale and Votorantim. Renato’s valuable operational experience has led to a significant improvement in the efficiency and productivity of Lipari’s mining operations.

 

Ali Gama Paulo General Manager, Angolan Operations

Ali Gama holds a degree in Geology and has 25 years of industry experience.  He started his career with De Beers Exploration in South Africa and in the Lunda-Sul province of Angola, where he was responsible for grass roots exploration programs for diamonds.  He later gained valuable production experience working on off-shore diamond mining operations in Namibia, where he was responsible for a 12,000 carat per month production operation.  Following his off-shore production experience, he gained a senior position with BHP Billiton in Angola where he was responsible for management of their exploration activities in the country.

 

José Paulo Donatti Exploration Manager

Has 20 years of diamond exploration industry experience and was instrumental in the development of the Braúna diamond mine, and Jaibaras Diamond Property in Pará State.  During the past 16 years, he has gained international experience exploring kimberlites in Fort a la Corne diamond district in Saskatchewan, Canada, and participating in Projects evaluations and field trips to kimberlite deposits in South Africa, Botswana, and Angola. Paulo Donatti earned his Ph.D. in kimberlite geology from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP) in 2011, and carried out academic kimberlite research at the University of Western Australia, Curtin University in Perth – Australia, and University of Alberta in Edmonton – Canada.

Eric Bruno Manager, Environmental and Mineral Resource Management

Eric holds a degree in Biology and is a specialist in Environmental Management and Mining Law. He has 18 years of experience in the mining sector, mostly dedicated to environmental management and permitting of primary and secondary diamond deposits. He is a certified rough diamond valuator having gained his certification from the International Gemological Institute in Antwerp, Belgium. He is Lipari’s representative with respect to the Kimberley Process Certification of the Company’s diamond production, and is responsible for all export operations.

 

Rogerio Araujo Manager, Purchasing, Contracts and Logistics

Graduated in Business Administration, with over 18 years of experience in the mining industry, he is responsible for managing Lipari’s Supply Chain, contracts, and operational logistics. Rogerio has been a key member of Lipari’s team since company inception, and played a leading role in the construction and equipment acquisition for the Braúna mine.

 

Francis Alves Fhiladelfio Manager, Processing and Plant Maintenance

Francis is an experienced electrical engineer with 18 years working in the industrial maintenance area. He graduated in Engineering and also holds an MBA in Maintenance and Manufacturing Engineering from USP. Following his post-graduate studies, he gained his certification as a specialist in Control and Automation Engineering from FAVENI. Before joining Lipari, he worked as a planning and maintenance engineering coordinator for companies such as Mineração Taboca and Largo Resources. At Lipari, he has implemented an asset management system and reformulated the measurement of KPIs with data analysis.

João Paulo de Gois Manager, Mine Administration

João is the administrative manager of Lipari’s Braúna mine and has been a key member of Lipari’s team for 8 years. He has a degree in accounting sciences and holds a post-graduate degree in tax accounting. He has 15 years of mining industry experience in Brazil and provides strong management and administrative leadership for Lipari’s operations.

Vinícius Cotta Cost Manager

Graduated in Accounting Sciences and an MBA in Business Management, he has been working in the areas of accounting, costs, and budgeting in several industrial segments such as agriculture, accounting, IT consulting, dairy products and construction. He started in the mining industry with the Braúna mine project, actively participating in the cost management during the construction phase of the mine, and the development of budget controls budget systems, working with the KPIs, and reporting to stakeholders.

Tatiane Almeida Finance Manager

Tatiane holds a degree in accounting sciences and an MBA degree in financial management. She has also received her certification as a specialist in management accounting from the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA). She has been a key part of Lipari’s finance team for 10 years, and has advanced to a managerial position where she is now responsible for Lipari’s financial activities.

Independent Technical Consultant (QP)

Martin Doyle Technical Director, QP

Martin worked in diamond exploration for over 35 years in the De Beers Group and was the Managing Director of De Beers Brazil. After six years in Brazil, he was transferred to De Beers Canada as Exploration Manager and was responsible for the major diamond deposit evaluations of the Victor, Gahcho Kué and Fort A La Corne kimberlites.
